7/13/2008 - Bob faciliates.  Topic:  Discussion of the 5th of the 14 Mindfulness Trainings. Training 5 - Simple, Healthy Living - Aware that true happiness is rooted in peace, solidity, freedom and compassion, and not in wealth or fame, I am determined not to take as the aim of my life fame, profit, wealth or sensual pleasure, nor to accumulate wealth while millions are hungry and dying. I am committed to living simply and sharing my time, energy and material resources with those in real need. I will practise mindful consuming, not using alcohol, drugs or any other products that bring toxins into my own and the collective body and consciousness.

Survey Feedback Gathering

The Administrative Committee would like to invite the entire sangha to attend a special gathering on Sunday, July 27, at 5:30 at Heartwood. We will discuss the feedback received from the sangha survey and its implications for our community life and decision-making.  All are welcome!

Minutes from June 8, 2008 Administrative Committee (prepared by Julie)

1.  Day of Mindfulness planning

Susan presented a brochure describing the sangha; she will revise it as recommended and provide copies of it for the DOM.  Julie will create a sign up sheet for the Rose Ceremony on June 15 and another sign up sheet for people wishing to be on the sangha e-mail list.  Judith will copy the flyer describing the Full Moon Walk on June 18 and bring the copies to the DOM.  She will also being a copy of the chanting book, copies of the Mindfulness Bell and subscription forms.  A dana bowl will be available at the DOM with those contributions going to the sangha.

2.  Survey

Lori stated that 10 people responded to the survey; she will again request more responses.  Also she will provide the entire sangha with the survey summary and will initiate an e-mail discussion of when the administrative committee can meet to discuss ways to implement the survey results.

3.  August retreat

Due to limited time, planning will  continue via e-mail.

4.  Reschedule garage sale -- tabled until next meeting

Reschedule potluck -- Judith will pursue this.

5.  Web site

Lisa has volunteered to continue working on the web site and reported that the site was up-dated 6/8.  She will check out three hosts and with Susan make a recommendation which will be economical, easy to use, offer a smooth transition, allow for the domain name to remain and have the capability of providing links.

6.  Finances

Bob reported a balance of $180.  Judith will deposit the retreat checks in the bank.  At this time the retreat income already exceeds the expenses with more registrations expected.

Next meeting on the survey results to be announced.

Next regular meeting August 10 with Julie facilitating and Susan recording.
